Militia + OneShepherd JTX After Action Review
On September 29th 2021 the Missouri Militia joined One Shepherd training institute in Ulman Missouri to celebrate their 40th anniversary with a 3 day Joint Training Exercise. Folks from S&S Training Solutions in Kansas City Missouri, along with a few from Ohio and Indiana joined forces with the Missouri Militia to provide a Blue Force for the One Shepherd Opposition Force to test on the battlefield. As a special treat, the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation provided participants with a helicopter flight onto the battlefield this year. An experience they will not soon forget!
Watch the leaders review the plans and the performances of their individual elements as they discuss the JTX in detail over video conference.

I can’t overstate the value of the small lessons and the big lessons from such an event. From individual movement techniques, to gear adjustments, to trusting you are part of a bigger plan; even if you don’t know it. Working in serious darkness, and the constant changes in the field, was enlightening. Videos like this let us understand that both sides are scrambling to understand the battlefield, while we assume that they know more than we do.
It was dark. Seriously dark. . (1:20) yeah, it was around 0400 and after several engagements and denying the glorious “titties”, a malfunction sent me into cover, and I had to wait to see which way the moon was moving to know where North was. Wasn’t until dawn that friendlies walked past my hide and I knew I wasn’t the only survivor.
You have to feel the pressure to learn.
