Missouri Militia Policies, Principles & Ethics

The policy of this volunteer organization is to teach, lead and live the following principles and ethics.


 Missouri Militia General Orders

  1. Uphold and defend the Constitution
  2. Complete the mission
  3. Defend the state from tyranny, invasion and terrorism
  4. Educate and inform the citizenry
  5. Mobilize in time of crisis
  6. Maintain unit integrity

 Principles of Leadership

  1. Know yourself and seek self improvement
  2. Be technically and tactically proficient
  3. Seek responsibility and take responsibility for your actions
  4. Make sound and timely decisions
  5. Lead by example
  6. Know your teammates and look out for their welfare
  7. Keep your teammates informed
  8. Develop responsibility in your teammates
  9. Ensure the task is understood, supervised, and accomplished
  10. Employ your unit within its capabilities

 Core Values

Loyalty - Bear true faith and allegiance to the U.S. Constitution, your community, your unit and other soldiers.
Duty - Fulfill your obligations.
Respect - Treat people as they should be treated.
Selfless Service - Put the welfare of the nation, your community and your subordinates before your own.
Honor - Live up to the core values.
Integrity - Do what’s right, legally and morally.
Personal Courage - Face fear, danger or adversity (physical or moral.)


The Warrior Ethos

I demonstrate love through the faithful safeguard of my tribe and respect the honorable bonds with my fellow Warriors. I am able to endure defeat, imprisonment, scorn, and even death, but never dishonor. Excellence, although elusive, is my lifelong pursuit.

About The MO Militia

We are a civilian volunteer organization that trains, educates, prepares, responds to disasters, and defends the constitution.  The intent of the Missouri Militia is to be a part of the Missouri Defense Force as needed; under the legal authorization of the Governor when called to duty. RSMo 41.490
