After Action Report - May 17th, 2014

We first rallied all units at the carpool parking lot around 1000 hrs. at the location of Z highway and 210 highway in Orrick, Missouri. Members of the 1ST/3RD, 3RD/5TH C company, and 1ST/7TH and the First Baptist Church moved further in town where we were hosted to lunch by the Lions Club.

At 1100 hrs. we moved to the Orrick Baptist Church at 301 Adams St. It was decided that this would be our base of operations for the day. We were separated into teams of around five trucks carrying the needed tools and supplies to accomplish our mission. By 1130 hrs. we were on the road and working together as well unified teams throughout Orrick, moving from house to house to find out if there was a need we could fulfill for the citizens, as we cleaned up the debris, and brush piles along the street. There were approximately 25 to 35 loads of debris and trash taken to the local dumping site for pickup. There were also a couple teams cutting and moving trees and limbs to the curb for future pickup by contractor later in the week. Working diligently, all units of the Missouri militia ended their work in Orrick, Missouri around 1700 hrs.

Thanks to all members of the Missouri militia, Orrick Baptist Church, and all family members who volunteered came together and made a positive impact while hopefully lessening the burden on many Orrick citizens.
