After Action Report – 1/8 D Company – 22 FEB 2020

Share

Date: 02/22/2020
Reported by: Company 1st Sgt. Swearingin
Location: C/O Higgins residence
Time: 10:00-16:00

>This meeting was primarily intended for the swearing in of our C/O and 1st Sgt. By Col. Sumpter. This would allow us to get officially started with an up and coming new Battalion, 1st/8th Delta.
>This meeting allowed us to meet members from other Battalions that we may or may not have already talked to over the phone or emails.

>The meeting started with the pledge of Allegiance to the American flag followed by a prayer.
>Immediately after, small groups were made for more in depth discussions of everything  from Ham radio to first aid.
>Col. Sumpter rallied the meeting back with everyone together by going over what the purpose of the Mo. Militia is and why it was important to be united throughout the state if need arises.
>Some more information data sheets were passed out covering various things which included the By-Laws.
>This was followed by the swearing in of Mr. Higgins, Swearingin, and Barnett
>Patches were then delegated and paid for for individual people
>Discussions were considered for P. Swearingin doing some or all patches as well as shirts, banners, any type of media needed. This would keep spending for various things, "In House". Penny is working on becoming a new member of the 1st/8th Delta.
>Some coverage of C.E.R.T. was brought up and some usage of first aid equipment like tourniquets, and multiple bandages.
>H. Swearingin was explaining to Col. Sumpter his abilities to fly drones. He was then asked to possibly fly above the JTX training event to get several pictures of the event.
>Some members were showing individuals personal gear they carried and names as well as contact info exchanged.

The meeting was a casual meet and greet, which was great to put a face to an email. Handshakes wishing everybody safe trips back home were given to end the meeting.
