Dynamic Pistol Drills

CPL McVey, gave instructions on safety procedures for range use and protocol for any incident that could occur that would require medical assistance.

CPL McVey in preparing for pistol drills, discussed the different types of gun failures that could occur and the remedies for each failure.

CPL McVey demonstrated each failure and instructed how fix the issue. CPL McVey had everyone in the unit to go through the failures and solve each failure.

CPL McVey talked to the unit about the drills we would be going over, and how if placed in the situation, the drills are designed to help achieve maximum effectiveness in placing rounds on target.

* The drills practiced the following:

* Taking Cover

* Slicing the pie

* Changing the angle of your aim

* Drawing the firearm (how to & how not to)

* Shooting from prone positions

* Movement (forward, backward, side to side)

* Running with your weapon (drawn holstered)

1230hrs the unit broke for lunch

1330hrs we resumed drills until 1430hrs, then CPL McVey set up a course for distance shooting, running to cover, shooting from cover in different positions including urban prone both left & right, moving to the next station and engage multiple targets. The course was to designed to induce adrenalin to stimulate a high stress situation to practice on maintaining accuracy on targets.

Approximately 1540hrs we concluded all drills and the unit was dismissed.
