A lot of people ask who we are and what we are about. So here it is. First, we come from families and we are dedicated to protecting them. We are about preserving life and the rights that come with it. We are here as a barrier against anyone who would challenge our way of life. We believe that everyone has a place in the Missouri Militia, regardless of color, gender, religious beliefs, etc. To deny anyone would be to go against everything this organization was created for. We believe that everyone has something to offer and we should be willing to learn from them.
We simply do not tolerate ANY racism, bigotry, or sexist behavior. Every month in addition to our training, we try to address any concerns or suggestions that you may have. If you have a problem, let us know.You decide your level of involvement. We are often asked about our training, the most common being, "do you have a boot camp?" No. Our training happens continuously. However, we do have rifle marksmanship which you must qualify for annually. (Unless you are a volunteer in the Intelligence or Operations Directorate.)
Our training standards are broken into three progressive skill levels which are guidelines for each individual. When a skill is covered at training, you will receive a go, no-go evaluation. If you show that you have learned the skill, your training card will be signed by your team leader. We don't expect everyone to be able to come to every meeting or stay for an entire weekend. We know that you will often have prior commitments. We simply ask that you do what you can, when you can. We are here for the preservation of our way of life. For us, there is nothing more important than our families. We understand that in order for us to continue our way of life, we must stand up for what we believe in.
We as civilians serve as both the first and last line of defense. We harbor no illusions as to who we are. You will not find delusions of grandeur among us. What you will find is some of the hardest working, most proud group of people ever brought together. We are Americans of all genders, ages, races, occupations, religions, and abilities. We all understand the true meaning of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. And we would invite anyone to come out and tell us differently.
The Missouri Militia is comprised of everyday average citizens, and like all people we want to improve our quality of life. We know that the best way to do that is to help out in our communities. That’s why we support programs like Project Warmth, Harvesters, and Toys for Tots, as well as local blood drives. We also volunteer to provide disaster relief in the event of floods or tornados, both of which occur very often here. We also seek to inform people of pending legislation as well as offering training opportunities such as:

We invite everyone to come out and learn something new while fulfilling a long established American tradition. Our contribution is to strengthen our communities, which in turn makes us stronger. We are all the militia, let's act like it.
